Generation Zero zabiera nas w podróż do alternatywnej wersji Szwecji z 1989 roku. Kraj został opanowany przez ciężko uzbrojone maszyny, a ludzie są zmuszeni do partyzanckiej walki o przetrwanie. W trakcie zabawy wcielamy się w śmiałków, którzy próbują stawić opór mechanicznym adwersarzom, stopniowo poznając powody inwazji.
